The Green and Sustainable Lifestyle: Simple things we can do to have an impact.

By Vicki Koenig, MS, RD, CDN

How do you meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs? A sustainable lifestyle means making consumer choices with that perspective in mind. Our food choices and purchases have an effect!

What can we do? We’ll discuss simple ways to reduce our own footprint.

When we choose food grown with safe farming practices that’s grown organically and uses less packaging, we actually influence global warming. This doesn’t mean everyone has to become a vegetarian to save the world, but if we all ate less meat, even one meatless day a week, this reduces global warming. The companies we buy things from have a bigger impact. We’ll find out how to integrate that information into our purchase process.

Come to Vicki Koenig’s workshop for more ways to move towards a Green and Sustainable Lifestyle. Bring your ideas to share!

“Finding the Right Mentor Using the MBTI”

by Allie Roth

The Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) has been successfully used for decades for career transitions, leadership development, team building, and even couples counseling. Now, we are developing a model to match mentees and mentors.

Finding the right mentor is a complicated task. You want your mentor to “get you”, to understand your vision, goals and values, to be comfortable with and supportive of your style and preferences, and to have successfully navigated through some of the career situations that you now face. Yet you want your mentor to complement you in areas where you are less strong.  Perhaps you need more structure or focus or perhaps you are an introvert and have trouble networking. Perhaps you just need her to help you figure out organizational dynamics.

Personal chemistry is an important ingredient and we will include that in our mentor matching—–but it would take years of personal contacts to find the right person.  Our MBTI Mentor Matching program will weed through many to find the perfect match for you.
